Virtual career day

This year, REWE Group held a career day in the form of a virtual fair to provide an insight into the diverse areas of activity of the corporate group. Interested parties could visit the virtual fair in the period from 07.11.2020 to 13.11.2020 with a registration and click through the virtual rooms. On 10.11.2020, the big live event day also started with 70 contact persons from different areas and positions.

 

Structure of the virtual trade fair

After entering the virtual trade fair, the visitor arrives in the virtual lobby, where he encounters the first interaction points. These interaction points include the integration of a welcome video, a company video, an informative PowerPoint presentation and a link to the REWE Group careers website.

Virtual job wall

The virtual job wall is the highlight of the lobby: With one click, the visitor to the virtual fair is taken to a themed area with open job postings from all areas. These can be filtered by profile and affiliation.

 

Virtual exhibition hall

Visitors can access the virtual trade fair hall via the lobby. There, a total of seven 2D trade fair booths are located, which present the diverse career opportunities at REWE Group. The virtual trade fair booths are designed interactively so that interested parties can click through the contents of the respective booth to learn more about the corresponding area. The highlight of the virtual trade fair booths is the chat and video call function.

While the focus of the virtual booth "HR Operations" was on information dissemination and contact opportunities with REWE Group employees, visitors could even play a Run & Jump game at one of the other virtual booths. This was developed by a working student of the company to give the virtual event a higher gamification factor.

 

Virtual Infocenter

Via the lobby, the visitor can also reach the Infocenter with one click. All the media for the event are stored there. This includes videos, web links, documents, a podcast and presentations. The visitor has the option of filtering according to his desired media.

Summary

The example of the virtual trade fair of the REWE Group illustrates the multitude of possibilities available at such an event to create a diverse and interactive virtual experience for prospective customers. REWE Group achieved a high number of unique users, which could be tracked by including a registration form. The success of the virtual career day could additionally be measured after the end of the event by means of a detailed data analysis of the individual virtual booths.

The virtual career day was super accepted both internally and externally. Everyone was delighted with the design and the functions. Our visitors emphasized in their conversations how much they value this opportunity for communication. Our employees were thrilled with the modern and easy way to stay in touch with the target group. And the cooperation with the WWM team was also really top! Here I would especially like to emphasize the flexibility, creativity, spontaneity and speed of the work.
