When you stand at a trade fair booth, the first thing that catches your eye is often the visual appearance: the colors, the shapes, the lighting. But just as important is the silent language of materials, which often communicates your company's message without you even realizing it. Materials such as wood, glass, or fabric convey emotions, values, and brand messages. As an experienced trade show construction company, we know how important the choice of materials is for your brand image and how you can use them specifically to build trust and evoke emotions in your visitors.

Every material speaks its own language. Wood conveys warmth, naturalness, and sustainability. Glass appears transparent, modern, and high-quality. Flexible surfaces, on the other hand, can appear both soft and inviting as well as elegant and stylish—depending on their finish, color, and structure. These subtle messages shape how your visitors perceive your brand before you've even said a word.
Take wood, for example: a wooden surface signals reliability and authenticity. Visitors are attracted by its natural feel and warm appearance. Glass, on the other hand, radiates openness and innovation. Presenting your products behind glass creates an impression of modernity and precision. Versatile cladding elements, on the other hand, may seem inconspicuous at first glance, but they have an enormous influence on the emotional impact of your trade fair stand. From flowing surfaces to textured panels, areas can be designed to be inviting while elegantly cladding modular systems – a combination of flexibility, aesthetics, and brand message.
By the way: Not only materials, but also colors play a decisive role in perception and mood. You can find out more about this in our blog post „Colors in trade show construction: Psychology for visitor experiences“.
You may ask yourself, “Why fabric?” The answer is simple: fabric is the ideal solution for modern, modular exhibition systems. Unlike rigid materials such as wood or glass, which often have to be used only once and then disposed of, fabric is sustainable, versatile, and cost-effective. It can be stretched flexibly, printed individually, and reused again and again, even in such a way that an authentic wood look is perfectly accentuated.
Fabric opens up almost unlimited design possibilities: backlit walls become real eye-catchers, large-scale prints convey your brand message emotionally and precisely, and even complex designs can be realized effortlessly. Fabric not only scores points visually, it also improves acoustics, creates a pleasant atmosphere, and makes your booth communicatively strong.
At WWM, we rely on modular systems that can be individually designed with fabric surfaces. This allows you to structure your trade fair booth clearly without sacrificing a high-quality look. And best of all, fabric is not only flexible but also sustainable, a material that can be reused again and again instead of wasting resources.

For HotelPartner Revenue Management's appearance at ITB Berlin, we developed a stand design that conveys warmth and openness while emphasizing the brand identity. The design was based on a log cabin style: natural wood finishes combined with warm lighting created an inviting atmosphere that encouraged visitors to linger.
To emphasize the contrast between coziness and alpine vastness, we integrated window motifs with views of snow-covered mountain landscapes. Behind the counter, a textile graphic with a fireplace provided additional comfort. The central highlight was a large-format LED video wall placed above the counter, which showed the HotelPartner company presentation – a powerful element for long-distance impact and brand communication.
The result: an open, modern exhibition stand that evokes emotions while remaining functional. For detailed insights into the concept and implementation, take a look at our case study. .
Material psychology is complex. It is not enough to simply select “attractive materials”; the combination, feel, and presentation play a decisive role. This is where WWM comes in: we accompany you from the initial idea through the selection of materials to the final implementation of your exhibition stand. With our experience in modular systems, fabric solutions, and sustainable materials, we ensure that your appearance is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also clearly conveys your brand message.
Our customers particularly appreciate the flexibility we offer through modular systems. You can customize areas, showcase new products, or change booth sizes at any time without compromising on high-quality aesthetics. And best of all, you are sending a strong signal of sustainability and value at the same time.
