Success at trade fairs: Achieving more together

Success at trade fairs: Achieving more together

If you want your company to be present at trade fairs, you are faced with an important decision: How do you design your appearance so that it attracts attention, is efficient, and clearly conveys your message? An excellent way to achieve this is with joint stands, i.e., exhibition stands that are shared by several companies.

As an experienced trade fair construction company, we know what is important: from planning and design to technical implementation. In this article, we would like to show you in a practical way what advantages joint stands offer, what creative possibilities you have, and how we can support you with your next trade fair appearance.

What are shared stands and how do they work at trade fairs?

Shared stands are often referred to as association pavilions or country pavilions. Unlike traditional individual stands, these stands are designed to allow several companies to present their products or services under one roof.

Modern shared stands are no longer simple, temporary structures. Rather, they are stable, modular systems that are flexible in design, reusable, and individually customizable

What makes these booths special is that they allow different brand identities to be harmoniously combined without losing the overall impression. Visitors immediately recognize that the companies represent a common theme or message, be it an association, a country, or an industry focus.

The advantages of shared stands at trade fairs

A shared stand offers you a number of advantages, especially if you represent small to medium-sized companies:

  1. Cost and resource efficiency
Certain areas such as reception areas, meeting zones, catering, or storage can be shared. This not only saves space but also money.
  2. Greater visibility
A larger booth automatically attracts more attention. Your message reaches visitors in a compact and clear manner, without each company having to fight for attention individually.
  3. Synergies in communication and marketing
Press conferences, giveaways, or promotional materials can be shared, reducing organizational effort and making your presentation appear more professional.
  4. Easier international presence
Especially at international trade fairs, a joint booth can make it easier for small companies to access international markets, as costs and logistical challenges are shared.

Creative possibilities for shared stands

Another advantage of shared stands is the design flexibility they offer. You can use modular systems that can be flexibly tailored to your needs. With our experience at WWM, we can offer you:

  • Individual stand design: Each partner can have their own area that reflects their brand identity.
  • Flexible lighting and media technology: LED systems, spotlights, projection screens, and interactive elements turn your booth into an experience.
  • Reusable modular systems: Reduce costs and setup times for future trade shows.
  • Integration of lounge and networking areas: Create spaces for conversations, meetings, and presentations.

Successful joint booth at ITB Berlin 2024

We created a successful example of a joint booth at ITB Berlin in 2024. Three companies, HotelPartner Revenue Management, Online Birds, and Incert, presented themselves together on 40 m² of space. The goal was to make the identity of all partners visible while creating an exclusive, modern atmosphere.

Result:
Visitors felt like they were at an exclusive event and lingered longer at the booth. The individual brand presence of each company was maintained, while the booth appeared as a harmonious whole.

Tips for a successful joint booth

To ensure that your joint appearance is a complete success, you should keep the following points in mind:

  1. Plan early: A joint booth requires coordination and consultation. The earlier you start, the more creative options will be available to you.
  2. Clear responsibilities: Define who is responsible for which areas, e.g., reception, technology, or marketing.
  3. Joint communication: Develop a uniform image that still preserves the identity of each partner.
  4. Visitor guidance: Consider how visitors will experience the booth—e.g., through open areas, interactive elements, or lounge zones.
  5. Consider sustainability: Reusable modules and energy-saving technology are easy on your budget and the environment.

Conclusion: Why shared booths at trade shows are worthwhile

Shared booths are an excellent way to join forces, optimize costs, and create an unforgettable experience for visitors at the same time. They offer smaller companies in particular the opportunity to present themselves professionally and visibly at international trade shows.
